Artists Animate the Expo 67 Archives: Artist Talk by Marije Baalman

Join us next Thursday, June 15th at 4pm in the Post Image Cluster for a presentation titled “Crafting micro-behaviors of light and sound in N-Polytope” by Artist Marije Baalman.

Artists Animate the Expo 67 Archives highlights artists’ processes of working in/with archives by presenting, discussing, and reflecting on artists’ research-creation processes. Marije Baalman has undertaken the Technical Direction, Embedded Systems, Media Composition Programming as a collaborator with Christopher Salter, on the installation N-Polytope at the Musée d’art contemporain’s upcoming exhibition, In Search of Expo 67. Marije Baalman is an artist and researcher/developer working in the field of interactive sound art. She has a diverse background in Applied Physics, Acoustics, Electronic Music, Computation Arts and Interactive Technologies. Her research explores wireless networks for live performance (such as dance and music), installations and interactive environments; currently exploring multi-participant environments. She is a member of the artist collective Instrument Inventors Initiative (iii) in The Hague. She is collaborator with Christopher Salter on the installation N-Polytope at the Musée d’art contemporain’s upcoming exhibition, In Search of Expo 67.
