THIS WEEK- Cluster member Yannick Desranleau in Montreal and Toronto

Featuring a collaboration between Cluster member Yannick Desranleau and¬†Chlo√ę Lum, the exhibition ‘Standing Under Mis’, opens September 6th, at Katzman Contemporary in Toronto. Alongside works of Marla Hlady and Christof Migone,¬†“SUM is a two-ring circus where performances are staged and documented, installations are arranged and rearranged, and documentation lags and layers;¬†for us and for you in a space, from now, until sometime later”.

Featuring work produced by Chlo√ę Lum and Yannick Desranleau during a stay in Qatar, ‚ÄúI really / I want / Time for / A lie‚ÄĚ, “strategically stages portraits and manuscripts so as to bring about an effect of presence and absence relating the essential concepts of the local pictorial traditions”.

In Search of Expo 67

The exhibition “In Search of Expo 67” opens this week at the MAC! This exhibition was co-curated by cluster member Monika Gagnon and will feature the work of cluster members Althea Thauburger and David K. Ross. The exhibition¬†will be on from June 21st to October 8th 2017.

Artists Animate the Expo 67 Archives: Artist Talk by Marije Baalman

Join us next Thursday, June¬†15th at 4pm in the Post Image Cluster for a presentation titled “Crafting micro-behaviors of light and sound in N-Polytope” by Artist Marije Baalman.

Artists Animate the Expo 67 Archives highlights artists‚Äô processes of working in/with archives by presenting, discussing, and reflecting on artists‚Äô research-creation processes. Marije Baalman has undertaken the Technical Direction, Embedded Systems, Media Composition Programming as a collaborator with Christopher Salter, on the installation N-Polytope at the Mus√©e d’art contemporain’s upcoming exhibition, In Search of Expo 67. Marije Baalman is an artist and researcher/developer working in the field of interactive sound art. She has a diverse background in Applied Physics, Acoustics, Electronic Music, Computation Arts and Interactive Technologies. Her research explores wireless networks for live performance (such as dance and music), installations and interactive environments; currently exploring multi-participant environments. She is a member of the artist collective Instrument Inventors Initiative (iii) in The Hague. She is collaborator with Christopher Salter on the installation N-Polytope at the Mus√©e d’art contemporain’s upcoming exhibition, In Search of Expo 67.
